Fire companies take Santa out

Some Carroll County volunteer fire companies take Santa Claus sitting atop a fire engine for a ride through their response areas. Below are schedules for three fire companies.

Schedules may change due to emergencies or weather. Residents can call their local firehouse for information on Santa visits.

Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department will start about 6 p.m.:

Today: Park Side development, Klees Mill Road (from Liberty Road to Bartholow Road), Old Washington Road (from Bartholow Road to Bushey Road), Bushey Road and Arthur Shipley Road.

Tomorrow: Freter Road, Buckhorn Road (from Freter Road to Woodbine Road), Stonehouse Village Court, Woodbine Road (from Buckhorn Road to Harrison Hills development), Ashley's Trailer Park, Harrison Hills development, Fannie Dorsey Road, Susquehanna Court, Shenandoah Drive and Streamwood Court.

Tuesday: Streaker Road (from Woodbine Road to Route 97), Green Hill Way, Manor Drive, French Avenue, Grace Lee Avenue, Old Washington Road (from Streaker Road to Chiseled Stone Road), Piney Run Court, Chiseled Stone Road.

Union Bridge Fire Company will make visits between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. as follows: Tomorrow, town of Union Bridge; Wednesday, Bucher John Road, Middleburg Road, Keymar Y Road; Thursday, Bark Hill Road, Rampart Way, Star Court, Banner Way, Raywell Avenue, Hoff Road, Stem Road.

Rain date will be Friday.

New Windsor Fire Company will leave the firehouse at 6:30 p.m. as follows: Thursday, Glenvue Acres, Overbrook Drive, Smiley Drive; Dec. 18, Atlee Ridge, Hollowell Drive, Clear Ridge Road, Uniontown; Dec. 19, town of New Windsor, Blue Ridge Manor, Springdale Village.

Rain/snow date is Dec. 21.
