Hess, 26, Marysville, Wash., died Tuesday at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas, of injuries suffered Nov. 11 in Ta'Meem when an explosive detonated near his patrol; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 77th Armor Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Schweinfurt, Germany.
Spc. Kenneth W. Haines, 25, Fulton, N.Y., died Sunday in Balad of injuries suffered when an explosive detonated near his vehicle in Abu Hishma; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 82nd Field Artillery, 3rd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.
