A 27-year-old Glen Burnie man died yesterday after he failed to stop at a flashing red light in Howard County and was struck by a tractor-trailer, police said.
Israel Castaneda was exiting westbound Route 100 onto southbound U.S. 1 at 4:50 a.m. when he failed to stop his Chevrolet S-10 pickup at the light at the end of the ramp.
The tractor-trailer, driven by Wallace Townson, 33, of Sykesville, slammed into the pickup, flipping it over and killing Castaneda, police said.
Police said yesterday that they believe Castaneda was at fault and do not expect to charge Townson.
