Shootings -- A man and a woman were injured last night in a double shooting in the 3300 block of E. Monument St. The man, who was shot in the back, was in serious but stable condition. The woman was shot in an arm and a leg. Her condition was unknown.
Shootings -- Two men were wounded by gunfire about 4 a.m. Wednesday as they stood at the corner of West Baltimore and North Stricker streets. The victims, a man, 23, who was shot in the left arm, and another, 19, who was shot in the left arm and right leg, were treated at the Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
Robbery try/arrest -- A 27-year-old woman was walking in the 500 block of S. East Ave. about 1 a.m. Wednesday when a man with a semiautomatic handgun demanded her money and valuables. When the woman said she had none, the gunman entered a car and drove away. A few minutes later, near the crime scene, Officer Bobbie Graves stopped the vehicle, and arrested the occupant. In the vehicle, police found a Ruger .22 semiautomatic handgun believed used in the attempted robbery. Charged with attempted armed robbery and using a handgun in the commission of a felony was Richard Gibbs, 19, of the 400 block of N. Bouldin St.
Robbery try/arrests -- Two males, one a juvenile, were arrested Wednesday afternoon and charged with the attempted armed robbery of a BP service station in the 700 block of Eastern Blvd. several hours earlier. Two males, one armed with a shotgun, had entered the station about 3 a.m. and ordered an attendant to give them money. When the attendant refused, the males fled. Acting on information some 12 hours later, Officer John Burgamy arrested Robert D. Jones, 36, of the 600 block of Maryland Ave., and a 17-year-old who was charged as a juvenile.
