2 earn citation for minority program

Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. recently presented Albert J. Henry and Russell C. Teter III with a citation for establishing the Small Business Development Center's Minority Business Development Program.

The program was established in 2001 with funding from Harford Community College to provide advice, training and assistance to prospective and current minority business owners.

The program has contributed to the economic growth of Harford County and encouraged minority entrepreneurs to be stronger leaders and advocates within the community.

MAX awards honor home builders

The Residences at Bulle Rock recently received several honors at the Maryland Awards of Excellence (MAX) ceremony held by the Sales and Marketing Council of the Home Builders Association of Maryland.

The community received the Outstanding Sales Center award. Its Welcome Center is in Mount Pleasant II, an 18th-century Georgian mansion.

The Welcome Center previously won the Havre de Grace Historic Preservation Commission Award in the Commercial Building Category.

Other awards went to:

Clark Turner Homes, Award of Excellence, large volume builder $1 million and over.

Clark Turner, Award of Excellence, Outstanding Model Home Merchandising, $1 Million and over, for the Triple Crown model and the Outstanding Merchandising Active Adult-Detached for the Exacta model.

Tracy Penrose from Ryan Homes received the Multifamily Home Sales Award, and Korin Frye from Ryland Homes received the Overall Sales Excellence Award as well as the Townhome Sales Award.
