Rare Rossini at Wolf Trap

The lowdown -- A bunch of guys disguised as nuns, a rousing drinking song, raging libidos -- no, we're not talking about Fantasy Fest in Key West, but the latest production in Wolf Trap Opera's summer season. Rossini's rarely encountered comedy Le Comte Ory (Count Ory) is about a sneaky plan to woo a maiden while all her would-be protectors are off fighting a Crusade. Lots of gender-bending and vocal pyrotechnics are part of the appeal in Rossini's penultimate contribution to the opera stage.

If you go -- Performances are at 8 p.m. tomorrow, 2 p.m. Sunday (also 8 p.m. July 16, 2 p.m. July 23) at the Barns of Wolf Trap, 1645 Trap Road, Vienna, Va. Tickets are $58. Call 877-965-3872 or visit
