Indians update

Predicted to be a World Series contender, the Cleveland Indians are five games under .500 and 17 1/2 games back in the rigorous AL Central. Cleveland's offense has not been to blame as the Indians boast the third highest batting average in the AL (.284). Travis Hafner is tied for fourth in the AL in home runs (24), second in runs (67), fourth in RBIs (70) and first in on-base percentage (.461), slugging percentage (.656) and walks (69). Grady Sizemore leads the league with 70 runs and 186 total bases. But Cleveland has been let down by its pitching staff. Its 4.77 ERA before last night's 10-4 loss is the fourth worst in the AL. Sabathia, the Indians' ace, has won one of his past six starts.
