Forensics tests by the city police crime laboratory and an investigation by city homicide detectives and the state's attorney's office have determined that two men fatally shot in May in Southwest Baltimore killed each other, police said yesterday.
The reason for the deadly gunfight remains unknown, police said.
Aaron Wilson, 23, of the 100 block of S. Hilton St. and Steven Wallace, 28, of the 4900 block of Queensberry Ave. confronted each other near Eagle and Payson streets about 10 p.m. May 16 and began shooting at each other, police said.
The men were found several yards from each other, one in front of a store and the other in the street with head wounds. Both died a short time later at Maryland Shock Trauma Center.
At least 12 empty shell casings and two large-caliber handguns were recovered at the scene.
Police said tests showed the gun carried by Wallace was fired 11 times, while Wilson's was fired once.
