Police Blotter


Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Armed robbery -- A man approached the counter of a Subway shop in the 600 block of S. Broadway about 9 p.m. Tuesday and told the two employees to remove money from the cash register. The robber ordered the employees to go to the rear of the store and lock themselves in a closet, then fled with an unknown sum.

Robbery -- Three young men -- one with a handgun -- approached a man at a bus stop in the 1900 block of E. Fayette St. about 5 a.m., Tuesday and ordered him to give up his money. They fled with $70.

Robbery -- A man riding a scooter had stopped at a traffic light in the 400 block of S. Grundy St. about 4 p.m. Tuesday when a man pulled him from the bike and sped off on it.


Burglary -- Someone cut a chain on a shed in the 800 block of Dumbarton Ave. between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and stole two shovels and a halogen lamp.


Burglary -- Between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Monday, a group of men climbed a fire escape to gain entry to a dwelling in the 500 block of N. Arlington Ave. and removed a vacuum cleaner, a drill and other tools -- all valued at $864.

Armed robbery -- A man was standing at a bus stop in the 2300 block of Liberty Heights Ave., about 3:50 a.m. Tuesday when he was accosted by two men -- one of them with a handgun -- who demanded his cell phone, boots and bus fare.

Armed robbery -- A woman walking in the 800 block of Whitmore Ave., about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, was approached by two men, one with a handgun. The woman emptied her pockets to show she had no money, so the men stole her cell phone.

Baltimore County


Burglary -- Someone cut the padlock on a shed in the 1900 block of Mountain Ave. about 7 p.m. Monday and removed limb-cutters and a weed-cutter. The tools were valued at $170.


Arrest -- A 36-year-old man found in a stream bed off Charles Street was arrested by county officers Tuesday afternoon as a suspect in attempted burglaries at two homes -- one about noon in the 6500 block of Charles St., the other in the 300 block of N. Wind Road moments earlier.

Stolen vehicle -- A 2005 silver-colored Mazda, with Maryland tags 19TY73, was stolen between 10:30 p.m. Monday and 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 8600 block of Black Oak Road. Its owner told police he was intoxicated when he parked the car and did not know whether he had left the keys in it.
