CARMELITA M. CRUTCHFIELD, 93, formerly of Baltimore died June 21, 2006 at the Gettysburg Lutheran Retirement Village. Born February 12, 1913 she was the daughter of the late Peter and Blanche (Hartwell) Huesman. She was the wife of the late Richard C. Crutchfield, Sr. Mrs. Crutchfield worked as a secretary for the former St. Joseph Monastery Drum & Bugle Corp. and the former Mother's Club of St. Mark Parish, Baltimore. She was the president of the Ladies Auxillary Knights of Columbus, Patapsco Council. As president for 15 years of the St. Mark Seniors she was responsible for its social activities such as bus trips, luncheons and donations to charitable organizations. As representative of the parish she was presented with the Social Ministry Recognition Award by the late Cardinal Sheehan. Mrs. Crutchfield is survived by two sons, Richard C. Crutchfield, Jr. of Gettysburg, PA, Dennis M. Crutchfield of Naples, FL, nine grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Maris Stella Oaks, of Texas, Dorothy Murray, of Catonsville and one brother, Rev. E.G. Huesman, Bernard Huesman and one sister Kathleen Smalley. A Memorial Mass will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 22, 2006 at the St. Mark Catholic Church, Catonsville, MD. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Macular Degeneration Assoc.
