Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore and Baltimore County.



Victim named -- Donald Lewis, 23, of the 1600 block of Moreland Ave. was identified yesterday by police as the man who was fatally shot about 8:15 a.m. Wednesday in the 900 block of E. Preston St.


Robbery/arrest -- A 75-year-old woman was walking in the 800 block of St. Paul St. about 11:30 a.m. Saturday when a man pushed her aside and snatched $20 from her grasp. Moments later, police arrested Kimmerle Thomas, 40, of the first block of E. Madison St.


Assault -- A man told police he was seated in the rear of a Checker Cab in the 4600 block of Craddock Ave. about 12:30 a.m. Saturday and eating from a fruit cup when the driver told him not to eat in his cab and ordered him out of the vehicle at gunpoint.

Baltimore County


Robbery try -- A man placed a soda on the counter in a seeming purchase, then displayed a handgun and demanded money when a clerk opened a cash register at Eddie's of Roland Park in the 6200 block of N. Charles St. Instead, the clerk handed over the gunman's change and closed the register, and the would-be robber fled.


Home invasion -- Police were seeking a man who forced his way into a house in the 4600 block of Hawksbury Road about 1 a.m. Saturday through a sliding glass door, setting off an alarm. While the man was assaulting a female occupant, a dispatcher for a burglar alarm company called the house, and the intruder fled. The victim was not seriously hurt.

North Point

Arrest -- An 18-year-old woman was arrested Saturday when she tried to leave Sears at Eastpoint Mall without paying for clothing and jewelry valued at nearly $300.

Burglary -- A computer, jewelry and two TVs - all valued at $1,650 - were stolen over the weekend from a house in the 2600 block of Liberty Parkway.
