Police Blotter is a sampling of crimes from police reports in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.
Arson/homicide -- The March 2 death of Said Sawab, 36, of the 5500 block of Gwynn Oak Ave. has been ruled a homicide. Police said that Sawab's body was found in his bed that morning, and that his apartment had been set on fire by an unknown person.
Victim identified -- Police identified Kevin A. Sewell, 20, of the 1600 block of N. Gilmor St. as the man fatally shot in the head Tuesday night in the 2900 block of Towanda Ave.
Shooting -- A 33-year-old man was reported in critical condition after he was shot in the lower back by an unknown assailant about 11 p.m. Wednesday in the 4100 block of Belair Road.
Shootings -- Police were seeking a man who shot two women about 1 a.m. Wednesday while the victims stood near a fence in the 1800 block of Aisquith St. One woman was shot in the chest, leg and back, and the other in the leg. Both were treated at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Anyone with information is asked to call the district at 410-396-2433.
Burglary -- Someone entered an apartment in the 4200 block of Chapel Road on Wednesday and removed $60.
Robbery -- A man armed with a handgun robbed the Rite Aid in the first block of Bowleys Quarters Road of an undisclosed sum of money about 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Burglary -- Someone used a portable wooden platform to climb onto the roof of a house in the 3900 block of Stansbury Mill Road on Wednesday, then entered the house through a bedroom window and stole a credit card.
Robbery try/arrest -- A man was walking in the 100 block of Shawan Road about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday when a man who implied having a handgun demanded his wallet and then asked for $3. The victim called police. Arrested near the scene and charged with attempted armed robbery was Jerry Eugene Hairston, 44, of no fixed address.
