Bader, Saiki lead field


LPGA regulars Beth Bader (74-68) and Kim Saiki (70-72) shared the medal at 2-under-par 142 yesterday, as sectional qualifying for the U.S. Women's Open was held at Green Spring Valley Hunt Club and Woodholme Country Club.

With 36 spots available from the 134-player field, there was a 10-for-two playoff at 152. Moira Dunn and Siew Ai Lim, who went from morning leader at 69 at Green Spring to an 83 at Woodholme, advanced with birdies at the second extra hole.

Bader birdied three of the last four holes at Green Spring for her 68. Saiki's opening Woodholme round included three back-nine birdies.

Angela Jerman bogeyed her 36th hole to fall back to a tie with Tracy Hanson at 143.
