Electronics museum needs assistance

The Historical Electronics Museum, 1745 W. Nursery Road in Linthicum, is seeking volunteers to do research, aid in collections, clean exhibits and serve as visitor service representatives. Participants must be 18 or older. Training will be provided.

Historical Farmstead seeks tour guides

Help preserve the Historical Farmstead in Pasadena. Volunteers 17 or older are being sought as tour guides from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays through October and as gardening assistants. Training will be provided.

Help needed for Relays for Life

The American Cancer Society is seeking volunteers to assist with its Relays for Life fundraiser events. Participants should be older than 16 and be available for entire events. Relays will be held Friday, 6 p.m. to 7 a.m., at South River High School, 201 Central Ave. East, Edgewater; and June 23, 6 p.m. to 7 a.m., at Old Mill High School, 600 Patriot Lane, Millersville. Registration is required.

Archaeological volunteers needed

The Historic Annapolis Foundation is seeking volunteers with an archaeology background to work weekdays or weekends through October at the William Paca House and Garden. Volunteers can sign up to participate in conservation, preservation, horticulture, museum management, marketing and more. Training will be provided.

Legacy Leadership training residents

Legacy Leadership is offering training in government offices and the nonprofit sector to residents over the age of 50. Volunteers will be given 64 hours of training in Annapolis or College Park on the bill process, government operations, Maryland history and constituent matter. Training is on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for eight weeks from September to November. These are unpaid positions that leave the participant with a knowledgeable experience concerning the government process.

Hospice auxiliary needs volunteers

The Hospice of the Chesapeake Auxiliary needs volunteers to sell Ultimate Dinner & Theatre raffle tickets to support hospice patients and their families. Volunteers will sell raffle tickets on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. throughout the county. The drawing will be held Sept. 13.

Arundel Habitat for Humanity is in need of five AmeriCorps members to serve terms beginning Aug. 29 and ending July 21, 2007. Available positions include three construction assistants, a youth program coordinator and a faith relations coordinator.

Assistance needed with riding lessons

Maryland Therapeutic Riding is seeking more than 100 volunteers to assist with riding lessons Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings. The Crownsville center offers therapeutic horseback riding lessons for children and adults with special needs. Volunteers assist as horse leaders, walkers and general barn maintenance staff.
