Farmers' market opens Saturday

The Carroll County Farmers' Market will open for its 35th year from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, June 17 through Sept. 2, at the Carroll County Agriculture Center on Smith Avenue, Westminster.

Numerous stalls will offer handcrafted baskets, clothing, dolls, pillows, woodcrafts, painted items and jewelry, as well as holiday crafts, ornaments, decorations, gifts and floral arrangements.

Homemade food will be sold, along with fresh eggs and other seasonal produce.

Free blood pressure screening will be available. The Master Gardeners will be on hand with gardening information and to answer questions. The cafeteria also is open for breakfast and lunch.

Summer vendors are needed

Starting this month and next, three farmers' markets in Carroll County will open for the 2006 season.

Vendors are wanted for the markets that include the Carroll County Farmers' Market, Downtown Westminster Farmers' Market and the Taneytown Main Street Farmers' Market.
