Looking at the turnaround from the Orioles' bullpen, I guess it's a long season.
The relievers have posted a 3.28 ERA in the 25 games before last night. But I'm sure we all knew Chris Britton and Kurt Birkins would make such a difference.
The Orioles wives are conducting their annual food drive today through Sunday. They're collecting non-perishable items for the Maryland Food Bank before each game against the Yankees. Of particular need are canned vegetables and fruits, dried cereal, pasta, peanut butter, powdered milk and canned meats. Soaps, shampoos, toothpaste and disposable diapers also are needed, and cash donations will go toward purchasing turkeys for Thanksgiving.
