Free admission is offered today at the Baltimore Museum of Art. This month's Free First Thursday is inspired by the works of impressionist masters including Monet, Sisley, Van Gogh and Matisse. Tour the French and American Impressionism in the BMA Collection and Lasting Impressions: Impressionism in the Cone Wing and participate in a flower-making workshop. The Swingin' Swamis will entertain with popular rhythm and blues tunes.

The U.S. Navy Band's "Sea Chanters" chorus celebrates its 50th anniversary on Saturday at the University of Maryland, College Park. The chorus will perform a gala concert at 7 p.m. The public can observe how professional singers prepare for performances at an open rehearsal at 11 a.m. and at a choral clinic instructed by Dr. John Dickson, director of choral studies at Texas Tech University, at 1 p.m.

Bread and Puppet Theater's "National Circus of the Correct Moment" takes place Saturday at Patterson Park. There will be clowns, lively music, spirited dancing and lots of puppets who will share messages of political awareness with youngsters. The circus includes a bunch of other quirky happenings to entertain both children and adults.

Tomorrow, Dave Trottier of the University of Phoenix hosts a master class and seminar at Towson University on writing and selling screenplays. Trottier, who has sold screenplays to the Walt Disney Co., Jim Henson Pictures and others, will engage students in his presentation as they write their own pitches and practice presenting.
