FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Given a lead to protect in the ninth inning yesterday, Orioles reliever Jim Brower surrendered three runs in a 6-5 loss to the Florida Marlins.

After consecutive walks to Mike Kinkade and Matt Cepicky, Robert Andino doubled over the head of center fielder Esix Snead to reduce the Orioles' lead to 5-4. Matt Treanor followed with a two-run single and the Marlins moved ahead.
