THOMAS A. BLOCK, 80, of Port St. Lucie, died February 22, 2006. Mr. Block was born in Carnegie, PA., he moved to Port St. Lucie, FL. 2 years ago from Mt. Joy, PA. Mr. Block was married to his wife Helen for 36 years. He served with the U.S. Navy during WWII, he participated in the Normandy Beach landings, he received the following medals, European Theater Ribbon with 1 Star, American Theater Ribbon and the Victory Medal. Before retiring he was employed with the General Elevator Company in Baltimore, MD for 42 years, he also was an owner of the Block Elevator Company. He was a lift member of VFW Post 5752, a life member of the American Legion Post 328 and a member of the Elks Lodge #2645. Survivors include his wife Helen Block of Port St. Lucie, FL., sons Thomas A. Block, Jr., of Falling Water, W. Va., Richard F. Block of Williamsport, MD., William P. Block of Falling Waters, W. Va., Michael J. Block of Williamsport, MD., Harry C. Block of Port St. Lucie, FL., Joseph M. Block of Davidsonville, MD and James R. Stoltz of Ocean City, MD., daughters, Carol L. Block of Falling Water, W. VA., Marianne Block Snyder of Hagerstown, MD and Mary Ann Callahn of Chester, MD., sisters, Mary Elizabeth Reid and Carol Ann Ronzo both of Hagerstown, MD, 22 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Saturday, February 25th from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. at Yates Funeral Home Chapel in Port St. Lucie. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. with Chalain Harry Butsko officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 2701 Australian Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL 33407-4596. Arrangements are by Yates Funeral Home Chapel in Port St. Lucie.
