Arundel police probe elderly couple's deaths

Anne Arundel County police were seeking yesterday to determine whether the deaths of an elderly couple in Glen Burnie on Thursday were a double homicide or a murder/suicide, police said yesterday.

About 6:40 p.m. Thursday, police went to a home in the 1600 block of Lorimer Road where two people were reported to be unresponsive and not breathing.

A man there told police he came home and found the bodies of his parents, Owen James Queen and Dorothy Lee Queen, both 73. Police discovered that Owen Queen had a gunshot wound to the upper body, but Dorothy Queen's cause of death was not immediately apparent, police said.

Police said that the couple's son and his wife, who were not identified, lived with the Queenses. The man told police they were not at the house Thursday evening and found the couple dead when they returned home, police said.

The cause of death is still unknown, police said. According to police, there were no signs of forced entry and no evidence that anything had been taken from the home.
