Prints used to identify body found in fire

Using the man's fingerprints, Anne Arundel County police have identified the body that an officer found burning on the side of the road in a Millersville neighborhood Tuesday, police said.

Pending notification of the man's family, police would release no information about him other than to say he was 50 years old.

Police said that they believe that the man was killed before his body was set on fire, but they do not know where.

Stab victim in good condition

A 16-year-old boy who was stabbed in the chest outside W.E.B. Du Bois High School in Northeast Baltimore on Wednesday was upgraded from critical to good condition yesterday at Johns Hopkins Hospital, city school police said.

A 15-year-old who was arrested in connection with the incident was charged as a juvenile with attempted first- and second-degree murder, said school Police Chief Antonio Williams.

The victim, a sophomore at Du Bois High, was about to board an Mass Transit Administration bus near the school about 3:30 p.m. when he was attacked by a teenage boy. Police did not release the names of the victim or the suspect.
