MARY ELLEN WOOD (nee Mc Laughlin) age 95, of Wilmington, DE. was called home to be with the Lord on February 19, 2006. Mary was born November 28, 1910 in the Locust Point section of South Baltimore and she lived there for 90 years before health difficulties required her to move to Delaware where she resided for the past 5 years. She was preceded in death by her husband George Wood who died in 1964, her parents Edward Mc Laughlin of County Donegal, Ireland, and Ellen Mc Laughlin (nee Mc Donall) of County Mayo, Ireland; and her two brothers Edward T. and Joseph J. Mc Laughlin. She is survived by her son Donald Wood and his wife Margaret of Timonium, MD, her daughters Kathleen Burke and her husband Alfred of Wilmington, DE, and Eileen M. Zulauf and her husband Harry of Baltimore, MD. Mary dearly loved and was actively involved in the lives of her 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild who referred to her as "Nana". They greatly loved and respected her. Christian Wake Service at the Charles L. Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., 1501 E. Fort Avenue, Locust Point, MD on Wednesday at 4:30 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church on Thursday at 11 A.M. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Family invite friends to call at the funeral home on Wednesday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Mary may be sent to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 1532 E. Fort Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21230 or Sister Catherine who runs the Outreach Program at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church and was a good friend of Mary's.
