Strickland a big assist to Towson Catholic
Towson Catholic guard Marah Strickland enjoyed another fine week, leading the Owls (21-4) to three wins to solidify the area's top ranking along with first place in the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference.
The 6-foot junior opened last week with 24 points in a 59-40 win over St. Mary's, followed that with 22 points as the Owls defeated No. 2 St. Frances, 56-47, and then closed with a 15-point performance in the Owls' 68-45 victory against Mount de Sales. In those three wins, she also combined to finish with 13 assists and 14 rebounds.
The addition of Strickland, a transfer from St. John's at Prospect Hall, has taken the Owls to new heights as they have taken the No. 1 spot for the first time in 21 years.
On the season, Strickland is averaging 23.5 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals.
