Capital Gazette wins special Pulitzer Prize citation for coverage of newsroom shooting that killed five




MGH has appointed Mike Skandalis as executive vice president and principal of the Owings Mills-based marketing agency. People on the Move Eisner Communications said Mario Trescone has joined the staff of the Baltimore-based agency as market research manager/senior data analyst.

Harvey & Daughters Inc. appointed Laura Holmes as strategic account planner for the Hunt Valley branding and retail marketing firm.

Carton Donofrio Partners Inc., headquartered in Baltimore, named Stacy Smith as a senior media planner, Tiffany Hawkins as an assistant media planner, Kristen Daniels as a digital production artist and Lindsey Wallace as a project manager.

Banking and finance

Citizens National Bank appointed Jeanne Kelly-Rieken as eastern area regional vice president, Claire Terrell as vice president and manager of its Pointer Ridge branch and Dawn Jackson as regional sales manager for its eastern region.

SunTrust Bank Maryland announced that Terri Miller and Shaun M. Erdman were appointed assistant vice presidents in the retail division and Eugene Battista and Eric D. Josephson were named as bank officers.


The Johns Hopkins University named Abbey Lattes as marketing and communications director for the Whiting School of Engineering. She is responsible for development of a marketing plan and centralization of communications for the school.

Legal and insurance

Whiteford, Taylor & Preston announced the election of Edward U. Lee III, real estate department; Dana O. Lynch, technology and intellectual property; Cameron J. Macdonald, bankruptcy department; Raymond L. Marshall, litigation department; Aryeh E. Stein, bankruptcy department; Ilana Subar, business litigation; and Eric A. Vendt, business and corporate department; as partners of the Baltimore-based regional law firm.

McKennon Shelton & Henn LLP announced that Kimberly C. Betterton and William Taylor IV were elected as partners of the Baltimore-based law firm.

Professional services

axonX appointed David Karczeski vice president of finance and operations. He is responsible for all financial and daily office operations. Named as managers were Andy Lynch, technical services and responsible for research, testing and product development programs, and Bob Dannenfelser, global product services. He has responsibility for domestic and international sales, marketing and training for the firm's video-based fire and smoke detection system.

Dunbar Armored Inc. promoted Mike West to vice president and general manager of its Dunbar Global Logistics unit. He will lead development of the firm's international capabilities.

CollabraSpace appointed Mark Tanner director of law enforcement and homeland security for the Annapolis-based provider of Web-based collaboration solutions for the public and private sectors. He formerly was with the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Whitney, Bailey, Cox & Magnani, the Towson architectural, design and engineering firm, appointed Marco Legaluppi and Mark Shafer as executive vice presidents and Class A principals and named Phil Han, Kevin Nikiel and Stephen Burdette as vice presidents. The firm named Lyle K. Aaby president and chief executive officer of its sister company, WBCM Construction Services LLC, and a Class A principal of both firms.
