Northern

Arrest -- Abdul Karim Alvez-El, 20, of the 500 block of Richwood Ave. was arrested Friday at his attorney's downtown office by members of the Regional Warrant Apprehension Task Force on warrants charging him with two counts of first-degree murder. Alvez-El is accused of shooting Ricky Medley, 19, and Martell Brown, 16, as the victims sat in Medley's car in the 500 block of E. Cold Spring Lane about 10 p.m. Feb. 2. Medley died that night at Good Samaritan Hospital and Brown died the next day at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Alvez-El was held without bail at Central Booking and Intake Center.

Central

Arrest -- Devon B. Harrod, 22, of the 500 block of McMechen St. was arrested Friday in the 100 block of S. Kossuth St. on a warrant charging him with attempted murder in the shooting Feb. 4 of Erica Harris, 21, in the 300 block of McMechen St.

Eastern

Shooting -- An 18-year-old man whose name was not disclosed was reported in serious condition at Johns Hopkins Hospital after an unknown assailant shot him in the right hand, both shoulders and left hip about 3 p.m. Sunday as he stood in the 700 block of N. Kenwood Ave.

Western

Assault -- Police were seeking two men who attacked a man, 48, in the first block of N. Mount St. about 11:20 a.m. Sunday, spraying him with a chemical irritant, beating him with their fists and kicking him. The victim suffered numerous head and eye injuries and was treated at Maryland General Hospital.

Drug arrest -- A Florida man was being held on $750,000 bail at the county detention center in Towson after the Maryland Transportation Authority Police arrested him on drug charges last week. Arrested and charged with speeding and possession with intent to distribute marijuana was Sheldon Powell, 48, of Sunrise, Fla. The car was confiscated along with its cargo, which included 60 pounds of marijuana bricks with an estimated street value of $125,000.

Rape -- A 33-year-old woman reported to police Sunday afternoon that a man had picked her up at an unknown location in Baltimore hours earlier, took her to a Pulaski Highway motel and raped her.

Cockeysville

Vandalism -- Someone spray-painted "KKK Lives" and swastikas on at least two parked cars over the weekend, one on Gunpowder Road in Millers and the other on Middletown Road in Freeland. It was not known if the vehicles were targeted or randomly selected.

Franklin

Robbery -- A 40-year-old man was standing in the driveway of his home in the 11900 block of Long Lake Drive about 9 p.m. Sunday when a gunman robbed him of a cell phone and his wallet containing $67 and credit cards. The gunman drove away in a car with unknown tags.
