CHARLES R. BARKER, age 86, of Wilmington, died January 31, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital. Mr. Barker was born in Baltimore and was a World War II Veteran serving as Regimental Sergeant Major (Master Sergeant) in the European Theater. He was with the Du Pont Company for 35 years and retired in 1981 as a Physical Distribution Analyst. He enjoyed golf, dancing and working on cars and was a member of the Post Cana Organization for widowed people. Helen (nee Kuhn), his devoted wife of 42 years, died in 1989. Charles is survived by his loving children, Margaret M. Barker and Robert C. Barker. A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday, February 4 at 2:00 p.m. at the CHANDLER FUNERAL HOME, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE. Relatives and friends were also cordially invited to the graveside services at New Cathedral Cemetery, 4300 Old Frederick Road, Baltimore, on Monday, February 6 at 2:00 p.m. www.chandlerfuneralhome.com.
