The River Hill Boosters will sponsor its ninth Dinner Dance and Silent Auction from 8 p.m. to midnight March 10 at Ten Oaks Ballroom in Clarksville.
Tickets are $45 and include hors d'oeuvres, dinner, dessert, beer, wine, coffee and soft drinks. A cash bar is also planned. Dress is casual.

Marriotts Ridge PTSA to hear from Kaufman
The Marriotts Ridge High School PTSA will sponsor an "Evening with Mr. Josh Kaufman," chairman of the Board of Education, from 6:15 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 15 at the school. He will discuss this year's efforts and plans for the future. He will take questions at 7 p.m.
The snow date is Feb. 22.
At the library -- The Glenwood library, 2350 Route 97, Cooksville, will offer "3, 2, Fun!" -- a program of stories, activities and games for preschoolers ages 2 and 3 with an adult -- at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Mondays, through Feb. 13. Registration is not needed.
"Play Partners," a drop-in program for infants and toddlers to age 23 months (with an adult), will be offered at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Tuesdays through Feb. 14. Registration is not needed.

Best medicine -- "Laughter -- The Best Medicine," a program of laughing exercises to strengthen the immune system, lower blood pressure and promote emotional healing for those ages 55 and older, will be offered from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Western Howard County Senior Center at St. Michael's Church, Mount Airy.
