Martin Brodeur made 22 saves for his 77th career shutout, and Zach Parise, Jamie Langenbrunner and Scott Gomez scored goals in the resurgent New Jersey Devils' 3-0 victory over the visiting Philadelphia Flyers last night.

Brodeur, in his 13th season with New Jersey, broke a tie with former Chicago star Tony Esposito for seventh place on the NHL's career shutout list and moved two ahead of Toronto's Ed Belfour for first place among active goalies. Brodeur helped the Devils win their fourth straight game, their longest winning streak of the season. Before the streak, the Devils had lost 11 of 14 games.

Stars 2, Wild 1 -- Philippe Boucher's goal midway through the second period lifted Johan Hedberg and visiting Dallas over Minnesota.

Avalanche 6, Blues 1 -- Rookie Marek Svatos had his second hat trick and David Aebischer stopped 27 shots to help host Colorado past St. Louis for its fifth consecutive win.

Penguins -- Mario Lemieux practiced with his teammates for the first time in more than three weeks. Lemieux has played only one game since Dec. 3 because of an irregular heartbeat.
