Outlook: The quarterback watch begins today for Bowie State. Junior QB Lamar Manigo opens the season as the starter, but two newcomers, transfer Richard Armstrong and freshman Jerry Taylor, are expected to compete with Manigo for the job. Armstrong, 6 feet 2, 225 pounds, is No. 2 on the depth chart entering the first game. The Bulldogs shut out West Virginia State, 27-0, in last year's opener and went on to a 5-5 record. West Virginia State struggled through a 3-8 year. The Yellow Jackets' top threat is senior WR Kenneth Davis, who caught 44 passes for 643 yards last season.
