Meet the Band / Doug Segree band
Current members: Doug Segree, guitar and vocals; Scott Paddock, saxophone; Dan Leonard, electric guitar and backing vocals; John Thomakos, drums; Victor Williams, percussion; Steve Zerlin, bass
Founded in: Segree started playing in 1994, but the band's current lineup is from 2004
Style: acoustic rock pop with some jazz flavors
Influenced by: Peter Gabriel, Edwin McCain, Bruce Springsteen
Notable: Segree performs at halftime and post-game at every Redskins home game on the club level. He has been asked to sing the national anthem at tomorrow's game.
Quotable: "Once you get going, that's exciting," Segree said of singing the anthem. "The nerves are all up to that point, and I know once that first note comes out, it's all about the zone, feeling it. Think about the buzz you feel from singing in front of 85,000 people."
Hear Doug Segree Tuesdays at Acme Bar and Grill. The music starts 9:30 p.m. Free. Acme Bar and Grill is at 163 Main St. in Annapolis. For more information, call 410-280-6486 or visit www.acmebar.net.
