On Friday August 12, 2005 EDNA WEITZ, 101, passed away in Daytona Beach, FL. Mrs. Weitz was born in Baltimore, MD, and in her younger years worked as a seamstress in the garment industry. During WWII she was proud of serving her country as a Defense Plant Worker. She moved to Deltona, FL in 1979, from Fallston, MD, and then to Ponce Inlet in 1999. She was a member of Epiphany Catholic Church and enjoyed sewing, ceramics, and traveling. Edna is survived by 3 daughters: Edna (Raymond) Newstead of Rochester, NY and Maitland, Fl, Dorothy (Raymond) Mc Faul of Baltimore, MD, and Ellen (Roland) Barton of Ponce Inlet, who was her caregiver. She is further survived by 5 grandchildren; Raymond (Karen) Newstead Jr., Campbell, CA, Mary (David) Campbell, Radnor, PA, James (Mary Lou) Newstead, Booth Bay Harbor, Maine, Eileen (Robert) Jiras, Belcamp, MD and Velora Rice, Strongville, Ohio and six great-grandchildren. Edna was preceded in death by her husband William in 1964 and a daughter Wilma Di Marco, Ponce Inlet. Arrangements are in the care and trust of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Port Orange, FL.
