Homicide victim: Police identified 21-year-old Darrell Winston of the 600 block of N. Clinton St. as the man fatally shot Tuesday afternoon while sitting on the front porch of a house in the 600 block of N. Curley St.
Drug arrest: A Connecticut woman was arrested Tuesday by Maryland Transportation Authority Police and charged with transporting 10 small metal cylinders of nitrous oxide - or laughing gas. John Ryan, a police spokesman, said the gas is a controlled and dangerous substance. He said Shannon Laderoute, 18, of Southington, Conn., was on her way to a party in East Baltimore when she was stopped by Officer Greg Day for speeding on Interstate 95 and a drug-sniffing dog detected the gas. Ryan said the woman told Day she was paid $500 to transport the gas from Boston to Baltimore. A passenger, Kenneth Pichette, 25, of Harrisonburg, Va., was arrested and charged with failing to appear for trial in Harford County on a drug charge.
Theft: Scaffolding valued at $1,500 and used by an artist painting a mural on the wall of a building in the 2000 block of Edmondson Ave. was stolen Tuesday.
Theft: A man entered a storeroom at a Royal Farms store in the 2400 block of E. Joppa Road about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday and stole a case of cigarettes valued at nearly $1,100.
Arrests: Three teenage boys, including two brothers, were arrested Tuesday and charged with setting fire to refuse bins, piles of wood and trash cans along Waltham Woods Road, Lowell Ridge Road, Perring Parkway and Old Harford Road between July 28 and Tuesday morning. Damage was estimated at $5,000. All were released into the custody of their parents.
