Arrest: Lt. Anthony Brown was driving in the 700 block of Eastern Ave. about 10 p.m. Tuesday when he saw the driver of a sport utility vehicle with a flashing blue light on the dashboard make an illegal U-turn and stopped him. During an interview, Brown noticed the driver was wearing body armor, a badge around his neck and a shoulder holster in his jacket that held a loaded 9 mm semiautomatic handgun. Arrested and charged with unlawful possession of a handgun and a traffic violation was David Winfield, 23, of Norfolk, Va. Winfield told Brown that he was a bounty hunter, but had no proof, police said.
Arrest: The passenger of a 1993 Cadillac was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and cocaine Monday afternoon after Maryland Transportation Authority Police stopped the driver for speeding on westbound Interstate 895. While interviewing the driver and a passenger, police detected the odor of burning marijuana coming from the car. While searching the passenger, police found the drugs in his pants pocket and a bag. On the back seat of the police car, where the passenger had been sitting while detained, police found crack cocaine. Charged was James C. Tracey, 23, of the 2800 block of Tennessee Ave. in Baltimore Highlands.
Theft/arrest: A 29-year-old woman was in a store in the 1500 block of W. North Ave. early Wednesday when a man snatched $15 from her grasp and fled. Maryland Transit Administration officers stopped the man outside and held him for city police. Charged with theft was James Brown, 21, of the 4300 block of Mainfield Ave.
Robbery: A gunman wearing a New York Yankees cap robbed a man, 39, of his wallet and $59 in the 6400 block of Windsor Mill Road about 11:30 p.m. Monday.
White Marsh Precinct
Robbery/arrest: Two men, one with a handgun, robbed a man, 18, of $120, a cell phone and shoes on Chesaco Avenue near McCormick Avenue about 1 a.m. Tuesday. Flushed from a nearby hiding place by a police dog and charged with armed robbery and held on $20,000 bond was Edward Gray, 19, of the 1300 block of Rosewick Ave.
Vandalism: Someone spray-painted racial graffiti on the exterior walls, windows and sidewalk at Fullerton Elementary School in the 4400 block of Fullerton Ave. on Monday night or Tuesday morning. Anyone having information is urged to call 410-887-5000.
Robbery: Two men, one armed with a handgun, robbed a woman, 48, of her purse containing $15 as the victim walked along Edmondson Avenue near Academy Road about 10 p.m. Monday.
