Police seek suspect in Wilkens-area burglaries

Baltimore County police said today that they continue to seek a man suspected in a series of recent residential burglaries in the Wilkens area.

In the latest incident, according to authorities, during the early morning hours of June 23, the man climbed through a window of a house in the 900 block of Palladi Drive and stole the home-owner's wallet. The suspect then withdrew money from the victim's account at a local bank, police said.

Detectives believe that suspect is responsible for several similar burglaries in Baltimore County. Police said the crimes began in January, when purses were stolen from two homes, one in the 4700 block of Belwood Green and the other in the 4700 block of Drayton Green.

On May 12, the suspect allegedly stole a Sony PlayStation from a home in the 900 block of Elm Ridge Ave. Police said the man is also suspected in the theft of another purse from a house in the 700 block of Manchester Road on June 14.

Authorities describe the suspect as black, with a small build, medium complexion and hair styled in cornrows. He was last seen wearing a long, white T-shirt, according to police.

A surveillance camera photographed the suspect using the June 23 victim's ATM card. According to police, the camera also recorded the man driving away from the bank in a 1995 to 2005, light-colored, midsized vehicle.

Police urged anyone with information about these crimes to call 410-307-2020 or Metro Crime Stoppers at 1-866-7-LOCKUP (1-866-756-2587). Callers can remain anonymous, and those calling Metro Crime Stoppers might be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2,000.
