Animal cruelty: A pit bull was lowered over the side of a concrete culvert in a wooded section of Hanlon Park last week with a rope around its neck and attached to a tree. The animal was found dead, hanging from the culvert off the 2800 block of Gwynns Falls Parkway, on Friday, said Eugene Herring, a city animal control officer. Anyone with information was asked to call police at 410-396-2466 or the animal shelter at 410-396-4688.
Theft: Someone broke into a 2002 Chevrolet truck parked Sunday in the 400 block of Water St. and removed several compact discs, a radio and a remote control device - all valued at $1,160.
Theft: A cell phone, credit cards and personal items were stolen Sunday from a purse stored in an unsecured locker in a building in the 800 block of S. Caroline St.
Theft from vehicle: Someone entered a 1999 Honda parked Sunday in the 300 block of Homeland Southway and removed a purse containing cash, prescription sunglasses and credit cards.
Burglary: Between Thursday and Sunday, someone entered the media room at M&T; Bank Stadium in the 1100 block of Russell St. and stole a laptop computer, DVD player and framed photo of the Baltimore Ravens. The property was valued at $3,500.
Theft: After two women left a house in the 400 block of Heath St. on Monday, the male owner returned home and discovered that several rings were missing. They were valued at nearly $500.
Stolen vehicle: A gray 1996 Plymouth Voyager van with tags 508M477 was stolen Monday in the 3800 block of Potee St.
Burglary: More than $300 in currency and an unknown quantity of coins were stolen over the weekend from the bedroom of a house in the 5800 block of Stuart Ave. by someone who entered through the front door.
White Marsh Precinct
Arrest: A motorist traveling south on Interstate 95 near Rosedale about noon Monday was stopped for speeding and following another vehicle too closely. While questioning the driver and passenger, Officer Chris Breedlove of the Maryland Transportation Authority Police became suspicious of the men's answers and nervousness and was told by one man that he had a small quantity of marijuana. A search of the 1991 Chevrolet Camaro turned up a plastic bag containing 223 grams of marijuana. The driver, Michael Anthony Hendrix, 18, of Rembert, S.C., was charged with possession and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and was being held on $25,000 bail at the county detention center. The passenger was not charged. Police impounded the car.
Robbery: A man armed with a knife entered the Exxon station in the 100 block of Back River Neck Road early Sunday, ordered an employee to give him money from the register, and fled moments later with about $60.
Robbery/arrest: A 25-year-old man entered his sister's house in the 12900 block of Harewood Road about 1 a.m. Sunday, and allegedly assaulted the woman, stole her purse and fled into nearby woods. Arrested a short time later was Donald Mills, no fixed address, who was charged with assault, robbery and theft and held on $50,000 bail at the county detention center. The 20-year-old sister was not injured.
North Point Precinct
Theft/arrest: A 24-year-old man was arrested Sunday and charged with stealing a battery starting kit valued at $129 that day from an Ollie's store in the 1400 block of Merritt Blvd. Employees and a store security officer followed the man outside and detained him on the parking lot for police. The property was recovered. Charged with theft was Jason Mimmack of the 7700 block of Wynnbrook Road.
Burglary: Two bicycles were stolen Sunday from the rear yard of a house in the 3500 block of McShane Way. They were valued at $220.- Richard Irwin
