Capital Gazette wins special Pulitzer Prize citation for coverage of newsroom shooting that killed five




John S. Connor Inc., the Glen Burnie-based freight forwarder and ship agent, appointed Laura Reddington as the firm's marketing manager.

Aon Consulting appointed Amy Grutzik as assistant vice president and Brent R. Plemons as an associate. Grutzik will head the firm's small-business group practice at its Baltimore Inner Harbor office. Plemons, formerly with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, is assigned to the health and welfare practice at the Baltimore office.

RWD Technologies appointed Dennis A. Pick, currently chief financial officer, as senior vice president for the Baltimore-based consultant, developer and implementer of support products and training services. He is responsible for financial operations and merger and acquisitions activities of the firm. He will continue as chief financial officer.

Warschawski, a public relations firm, promoted Shana Harris to vice president.

Marshall Craft Associates Inc. said Alex R. Berman, a graduate of Syracuse University, Stacie L. Keppel, Pennsylvania State University, and Amy E. Schimmel, Pennsylvania State University, have joined the Baltimore-based firm as intern architects.


Sinai Hospital of Baltimore appointed Tina Gionet to the newly created post of patient safety officer and Dr. Donald Abrams as chief of ophthalmology at its Krieger Eye Institute. Gionet, a graduate of Finch University of Medical Sciences, is responsible for education, identification and monitoring of patient safety activities. Abrams is a graduate of Medical College of Pennsylvania and has been director of the hospital's glaucoma services. A Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, he is also an assistant professor in that subject at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.


Baltimore Area Convention and Visitors Association named Craig Vay director of finance and Kenneth Hemsley director of tourism development.


Comcast Corp. appointed Teresa Antonucci as director of communications for its Maryland/Delaware region, based in White Marsh. She is responsible for design and implementation of public affairs and employee communications strategies. She was manager of public affairs with the firm's D.C.-based Atlantic Division.


Citizens National Bank named Luis Trujillo commercial loan officer for the bank's Howard County region.

Provident Bank appointed Christa Hemans as president of its Court Square Leasing division in Malvern, Pa. The Baltimore-based regional bank also appointed Heather L. Anderson as a vice president in the consumer products and marketing division. She will be based at the bank's Baltimore headquarters.


NAI KLNB Management has chosen Amy J. Karfonta as its marketing director. She will manage all marketing and communications functions of the Baltimore-based assets and property management company.

Preston Partners announced that Michelle K. Rudd, a certified public accountant, joined the Lutherville- based commercial real estate firm as an associate.


Ober/Kaler admitted Chiarra-May Stratton, health law, Stacy Radz, litigation, and Grace Kraemer, employee benefits, as associates of the Baltimore-based regional law firm.

McNamee Hosea Jernigan Kim Greenan & Walker named Esther A. Streete as a tax associate at the Greenbelt law firm.
