Shooting: Timothy Simms, 25, was about to leave his house in the 4100 block of Norfolk Ave. about 11 a.m. Monday armed with a knife and a rake to confront people outside after a neighborhood dispute when an unknown male forced his way into his home and shot him in the chest with a handgun. Simms was taken by ambulance to Sinai Hospital. His condition was not available. Anyone knowing the identity of the gunman is urged to call the police station at 410-396-2466.
Arrest: Terrell Bennett, 20, of the 2500 block of Shirley Ave. was arrested Monday at the state parole and probation office at Mondawmin Mall by members of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force on a warrant charging him with attempted murder. Bennett is accused of shooting Damond Stansbury on June 7 near Stansbury's home in the 2400 block of Shirley Ave.
Arrest: Members of the Warrant Apprehension Task Force arrested Marcus Gillis, 33, during the weekend at his home in the first block of Heraldry Court in Woodlawn on a warrant charging him with first-degree assault. Gillis is charged with stabbing Gregory Tucker, 40, in the 400 block of S. Augusta Ave. on April 29.
Robbery: Police were seeking two men who entered Boulevard Laundromat in the 1200 block of Washington Blvd. about 7 p.m. Monday and robbed an employee of $43 after one of them assaulted him.
