On Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at Barbara J. Egan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, MARY C. M. (nee Madden) LEYPOLDT, 88, of Shrewsbury, PA, formerly of Glencoe, MD. She was the wife of the late H. Reuben Leypoldt. After working for Western Electric, Mrs. Leypoldt devoted many years of volunteer service to various civic and community organizations including Planned Parenthood of York, York Hospital, Oldfields School Library of Glencoe, Shrewsbury Public Library and Paul's Place Soup Kitchen in Pigtown, MD in addition to many others. She also held philanthropic interests in Maryland and Pennsylvania which included churches, libraries, the arts and various non-profit organizations. She loved owning and riding horses, caring for animals and enjoyed her extensive travels of the world. A public memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 17 at Immanuel Episcopal Church, 1509 Glencoe Road, Glencoe, MD. The Rev. Beverly Braine will officiate. J.J. Hartenstein Mortuary, Inc., 24 Second Street, New Freedom, PA is in charge of arrangements.
