W. Va man, 43, fatally struck by van on Pulaski Highway
A 43-year-old West Virginia man who was walking in a westbound lane of Pulaski Highway early yesterday was struck and killed by a van, Baltimore County police said.
Carl Colin Nelson was hit about 3 a.m. near the Harford County line and died at the scene, police said.
They said the driver of a 2003 Chevrolet van told them that he attempted to swerve away from the man. Police did not release the driver's name.

Finksburg motorcyclist, 45, killed in crash on Route 140
A 45-year-old motorcyclist driving on Route 140 in Westminster yesterday was struck and killed by a car, state police said.
David Alan Eline of Finksburg was driving a 1992 Harley-Davidson in the northbound lane, said Tfc. Eric Tregson.
About 4:40 p.m., Myra Lurie Hettleman, 64, of Baltimore, who was driving a Chrysler Sebring south on Route 140 at Baugher Road, crossed the center line and hit a northbound 2001 Saturn, Tregson said.
The two cars collided and separated, he said, and Hettleman then hit Eline's motorcycle.
The accident was under investigation.
Hettleman was treated at Carroll Hospital Center and released. Her husband, Kalman Robert Hettleman, 70, was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, where he remained last night, police said.
The driver of the Saturn, Stephen Michael Carter, 24, of Westminster and his passenger, Sandra J. Licamisano, 27, of Valley Stream, N.Y., also were also treated at Carroll Hospital Center and released, police said.
