Outlook: Depth defines the Bayhawks' offense as the starting attackers - Gary Gait, Mikey Powell and Tom Marachek - have contributed only a third of the team's points. Ten players scored in a 24-8 victory over the New Jersey Pride last week. Named Major League Lacrosse Rookie of the Week for his efforts, midfielder Brodie Merrill scored two long-stick goals in the win. Bayhawks goalies Rob Scherr and Trevor Tierney have allowed just 19 goals, a league low. Though last in the American Division, the Barrage has history on its side. Last season, the Barrage went from worst to first after a similarly dismal start, and since 2001, the Bayhawks have not won against the Barrage in Baltimore. The defending MLL champions are led by 2004 Rookie of the Year Ryan Boyle (10 points).
