Providence Center inventory sale to be held this week

The Providence Center will hold its annual inventory sale tomorrow through Friday at the Pottery Studio at 40R Church Road, Arnold, and PCI Crafts, 8149A Ritchie Highway, Pasadena.

Store hours will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Select items will be marked from 20 percent to 50 percent off.

The Providence Center is a nonprofit organization that provides employment, vocational, recreational, retirement, medical day care and transportation services to people with developmental disabilities.

Career fair planned Thursday at BWI

The Maryland Aviation Administration and the BWI Business Partnership will hold their seventh annual career fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at Baltimore-Washington International Airport.

The fair will assist BWI tenants and local businesses in recruiting qualified job applicants to fill entry-level to professional positions.

Families, dogs invited to SPCA movie fund-raiser

Loews Annapolis Hotel's resident Labrador retriever, Luke, will host a showing of 101 Dalmatians at 6:30 p.m. Friday for the hotel's annual fund-raising effort for the SPCA of Anne Arundel County.

The showing coincides with and is in celebration of the 72nd birthday of the drive-in movie theater, invented by Richard M. Hollingshead on June 6, 1933, in New Jersey.

Dogs, their owners and families are invited to the hotel, where there will be a drive-in movie snack shack with popcorn, hot dogs and snacks. Pets will be treated to items from Loews Loves Pets' gourmet room service menu. Vendors will display pet services and products, and a silent auction will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for ages 8 to 16 and free for age 7 and younger and dogs.

The Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce has announced its monthly events.

Seminar series from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. June 21 at the Small Business Development Center, 2660 Riva Road, Suite 200. The topic will be "The Right Message Gets Noticed: PR Strategies that Break Through the Noise and Get Your Company Noticed." The cost is $25 in advance.

Habitat for Humanity to celebrate 700th home

Habitat for Humanity will celebrate the completion of its 700th home in Maryland with a news conference and ribbon-cutting at 1 p.m. Wednesday at 86 Clay St. in Annapolis.

A reception and donor recognition will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Stanton Center, 92 W. Washington St. The celebration will be the culmination of the organization's public awareness campaign, "Building Homes, Building Lives."

Validated parking offered for valet service customers

Annapolis has contracted with Towne Park to offer validation stickers for customers who use the valet service.

Customers of businesses at the City Dock area can drop their car off at the valet station and take their parking ticket to the business for validation.

Skye Hospitality announces promotion, appointment

Skye Hospitality LLC recently announced a promotion and appointment to its staff serving Hilton and Marriott hotels in Hanover.

Tad Sinclair was promoted from assistant general manager to general manager of the Residence Inn Arundel Mills/BWI.

Lauri Reynolds joined the staff as director of sales for the Residence Inn by Marriott Arundel Mills/BWI. Reynolds has extensive hotel management experience in direct and telemarketing sales.
