Performer of the Year

Devon Williams, Towson Catholic

The sophomore opened the spring by winning the 400 at the MRW Northern Virginia Invitational in 55.99 seconds, establishing a new meet record in the process.

Williams, the county's Performer of the Year in indoor and outdoor track the past two years, finished third in the 400 at the Morgan State Invitational, but rebounded by capturing the 400 at the Scudieri Team Challenge (56.93) and the 800 at the Widener Invitational (2 minutes, 10.24 seconds).

Williams capped her season at the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland championships, setting records in the 400 (55.3) and 800 (2:13.1).

Coach of the Year

Jeff Sanborn, McDonogh

Unlike the Eagles' boys squad, the girls team doesn't have the "name" performers. But McDonogh demonstrated determination.

After failing to win their second straight IAAM indoor track crown last winter, the Eagles made returning to the top a priority, and they repeated as outdoor champions.
