Ravens' picks

Mark Clayton

Round: First (22nd overall)

Position: Wide receiver

Size: 5 feet 10, 193 pounds

School: Oklahoma

Hometown: Arlington, Texas

Career statistics: Caught 221 passes for 3,241 yards and 31 touchdowns in four years with the Sooners. Averaged 14.7 yards a catch. Also averaged 14.4 yards on punt returns with a touchdown. Holds every major school receiving record.

Quote: "We've had a chance to spend some time with him on several different occasions, and he is our kind of guy. The personality he exudes on the field is very similar to guys that we've drafted in other years like Ed Reed, Ray Lewis." - Eric DeCosta, Ravens director of college scouting.

Quick notes: Has a 38-inch vertical leap, one of the best on Oklahoma's team. ... Majored in communications.

Strengths: Makes people miss after the catch. Outstanding blocker. Uses his quick feet to get open on shorter routes.

Weaknesses: Struggled some in big games. May find it difficult to out-jump professional defensive backs.

Projected role: Will vie for a starting spot opposite Derrick Mason. Also will play in the slot (inside) receiver position in three-wide receiver formations.

Dan Cody

Round: Second (53rd overall)

Position: Defensive end/outside linebacker

Size: 6-5, 255 pounds

School: Oklahoma

Hometown: Ada, Okla.

Career statistics: Recorded 117 tackles and 25 sacks in 26 games.

Quote: "This was a guy in practice who was going all out all the time." - DeCosta.

Quick notes: Played eight different positions in high school. Ran a 4.8 in the 40-yard dash.

Strengths: Relentless pursuit. Quick off the ball. Was the emotional leader of the team.

Weaknesses: Needs to develop more pass-rushing moves. Is having to play a position he never played in college.

Projected role: Will be part of the pass-rushing rotation.

Adam Terry

Round: Second (64th overall)

Position: Offensive tackle

Size: 6-8, 330 pounds

School: Syracuse

Hometown: Queensbury, N.Y.

Career statistics: Allowed four sacks in two years with Syracuse. Amassed 33 downfield blocks.

Quote: "His athleticism is going to pay benefits." - Ravens coach Brian Billick.

Quick notes: Scored high on the Wonderlic test, the NFL test given to all prospects.

Strengths: Athletic. Can get to the second level of defenses.

Weaknesses: Not a strong run blocker.

Projected role: Will compete with Orlando Brown at right tackle.

- Brent Jones
