DOUGLAS JAMES PASSARO, 43, accomplished epidemiologist, inspiring teacher, and Peace Corps Volunteer, died at his Oak Park home Monday, April 18, 2005. Beloved husband of Dr. Sherry Nordstrom; devoted and fun-loving father to his daughters, Natalie and Gina Passaro. Other survivors include his father, Lanny Passaro; his mother, Cindy Passaro; sisters, Michele (Andy) Singer and Leslie (Chip) Lyon; nephews and niece, Matthew and Lauren Singer, and Nicholas and Jack Lyon; aunt, Elizabeth Allen; stepmother, Terry Passaro; and stepsister Tracey Miller. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Melvin and Junia Allen, Alvaro and Anna Passaro. A celebration of his life is planned for 2 p.m. Friday at Pilgrim Congregational Church, 460 Lake Street, Oak Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Douglas Passaro Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of the University of Illinois-Chicago School of Public Health, 1603 W.
