Hay-wagon concert planned for tonight at Shiloh church
Shiloh United Methodist Church will hold a hay-wagon concert at 6 p.m. today.
Lisa Fenstermacher will perform. She has released two compact discs, Glimpses and Promise for Tomorrow.
An offering will be taken to support the work of Myra Smith, a missionary to Guatemala and a friend of Fenstermacher.
The church is at 3100 Shiloh Road, Hampstead.
Grace United Methodist to serve supper today
Grace United Methodist Church will hold a covered dish supper at 6 p.m. today in the social hall, 4618 Black Rock Road, Hampstead.
After dinner, a video will be shown of the work being done in Africa by missionary John Enright.
'Penguin Tales' to be told at St. Paul's church today
St. Paul's United Methodist Church Nurture Committee will hold a Potluck & Penguin Tales event at 5 p.m. today in the fellowship hall, 200 Main St., New Windsor.
The Rev. Mary Kay Totty will discuss her trip to Antarctica.
The church invites the community to join its monthly book club. The March selection is The Curious Incident of Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon.
Churches sponsor Bible secrets program
The Carroll County Adventist churches will sponsor a monthlong series of Prophecy Code Seminar: Bible Secrets Unlocked programs.
The series will be held at 7 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays from March 4 to 26 at Westminster Adventist Church, 320 Crest Lane; and South Carroll Senior Center, 5745 Bartholow Road, Eldersburg.
The live satellite programs will feature Doug Batchelor, president of Amazing Facts media ministry.
Admission is free and child care will be provided.
St. Joseph's holding Fish Fry Fridays in parish
The Holy Name Society of St. Joseph's Church of Taneytown is holding its Lenten Community Fish Fry Fridays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. March 4, 11, 18 and April 15 in the parish center, 44 Frederick St.
Platters include kettle-fried potato wedges; choice of kettle fried or baked catfish, the fish special of the day, or homemade salmon cakes; choice of two vegetables; roll; and beverage.
The cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children ages 6 to 10, and free for children 5 and younger. Carryouts will be available.
Local church to hold Prophecy Conference
Wakefield Valley Bible Church will hold a Prophecy Conference at 7 p.m. March 6-9 at the church, 2214 Old New Windsor Pike, New Windsor.
Steve Herzig will speak at all four services. He is the director of North American Missions for the Friends of Israel Gospel Ministry.
Labyrinth program to take place March 6
Cedarhurst Unitarian Universalist Church will present a program on labyrinth walking from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 6 at the church, 2912 Club House Road, Finksburg.
After a regular worship and religion education classes at 10:30 a.m., lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m.
