Cheron Victoria Wicker honored for her service

Cheron Victoria Wicker, deputy director of communications for the Maryland Transit Administration, has received the Fullwood Foundation Valued Hours Award at an annual recognition breakfast held last month at Martin's West.

The Columbia resident was honored for her service to the American Heart Association, where she serves on a marketing and communications subcommittee that created and launched the "Go Red for Heart!" campaign for women's heart health. She was also honored for her nearly 20 years of service to the Girl Scouts.

The Fullwood Foundation encourages volunteerism.

McDonnell takes position with restaurant association

Brian McDonnell has joined the Columbia-based Restaurant Association of Maryland as vice president of expositions and allied membership.

In addition to serving the needs of the membership, he will plan and manage the Mid Atlantic Food, Beverage and Lodging Expo to be held Sept. 7 and 8 at Baltimore Convention Center.

McDonnell comes to the restaurant association with 15 years of sales and marketing experience in the food service industry with Sysco.
