Kristy Costa scored a game-high 22 points and sparked a key second-half run to help visiting McDaniel erase a 14-point halftime deficit and defeat Gettysburg, 74-66, in a Centennial Conference women's basketball game yesterday.
Costa went 5-for-8 from the field and made five of six free-throw attempts in the second half to help the Green Terror (18-2, 12-1) stretch its winning streak to 14 games.
Jen Bengel (Roland Park), who led four Bullets (10-9, 7-5) in double figures, recorded her fourth double double of the season with 20 points and a game-high 12 rebounds.
McDaniel outscored the Bullets 49-27 in the second half.
Heather Thompson had 15 points and a team-high seven rebounds for the Green Terror.
Johns Hopkins 60, Franklin & Marshall 42: Sophomore Julie Miller led the host Blue Jays (15-4, 10-2 Centennial Conference) with 10 points and nine rebounds, and senior Ashanna Randall added 10 points and eight rebounds.
The Diplomats dropped to 8-10 and 6-6.
Ursinus 74, Washington College 39: Sophomore forward Lauren Duckworth and sophomore guard Regina Barrett each scored eight points for the host Shorewomen (3-15, 2-10 Centennial Conference).
The Bears improved to 9-10 and 5-7.
Villa Julie 53, Philadelphia Biblical 51: Tanisha Foster paced the host Mustangs (8-10) with 18 points and 14 rebounds.
The Crimson Eagles fell to 10-6.
Chestnut Hill 63, College of Notre Dame 61: Sophomore forward Catherine Vecchioni had 14 points and 16 rebounds in the host Gators' loss.
The Gators fell to 7-10 overall and 4-2 in the Atlantic Women's Colleges Conference, while the Griffins improved to 9-6 and 4-3.
Villa Julie 80, Philadelphia Biblical 56: Anthony Fitzgerald and Wade Henninger each scored 25 as the host Mustangs improved to 11-7 and 7-2 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference.
The Crimson Eagles fell to 7-12 overall.
