Turner opens OB-GYN practice in Columbia

Dr. Kimberly Moran Turner, a lifelong Howard County resident and wife of the Rev. Robert Turner, pastor of St. John Baptist Church in Columbia, has opened an independent obstetrics and gynecology practice at the Medical Arts Building in Columbia. She has been a member of a group practice in Baltimore since 1995.

A board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist, she attended the University of Maryland, College Park and Duke University Medical School, returning to the University of Maryland for her residency.

Library system names information systems head

Amy Begg De Groff has been named head of information technology for the Howard County Public Library.

She began her career with the Smithsonian Institution Libraries, as a reference librarian for its National Museum of American History Library. For the past five years, she served as head of records management for a consulting firm in Washington.

De Groff was selected by the American Library Association in 1997 as one of 35 emerging leaders in the library profession.
