ATON, JOAN HALL

MRS. JOAN HALL ATON, of Park Chase Dr., Evans, GA, beloved wife of Dr. James K. Aton, entered into rest on Friday, January 21, 2005, at her residence. Additional survivors include two sons, Keyes Aton of Grapevine, TX and Herb Aton of Charleston, SC; two daughters, Randi Aton of Atlanta, GA and Tracy Quillian of Greensboro, NC; ten grandchildren, Alex Aton, B.K. Aton, Bret Aton, Emily Aton, Maggie Aton, Ben Aton, Cary Quillian, Randall Quillian, Aubry Quillian and Emory Quillian. A native of Baltimore, MD, Mrs. Aton was born on January 19, 1935. She was a graduate of Villa Julie College of Baltimore and for several years was a laboratory assistant and secretary for the Microbiology Department at the Medical School of the University of Maryland. Mrs. Aton was an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Southern Medical Association Auxiliaries. Mrs. Aton was a long-standing and beloved member of St. Augustine Episcopal Church. She will be sorely missed by her many friends and family. A memorial service will be held at St. Augustine Episcopal Church on Saturday, January 29, 2005, at 3:00 P.M., with the Rev. Canon Neal Phelps and the Rev. Harriette Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Garden. The family will have a reception following the services in the church Parish Hall. If so desired, memorials may be made to St. Augustine Episcopal Church, 3321 Wheeler Rd., Augusta, GA, 30909 or to one's choice.
