Robberies/arrest: A 19-year-old man was arrested Wednesday night and charged with one armed robbery and two attempts that occurred Tuesday and Wednesday. In the most recent incident, a 39-year-old man was walking in the 200 block of E. Fort Ave. when he was accosted at gunpoint. The gunman fled, running into a house that the victim pointed out to police in the 1500 block of S. Charles St. There, police arrested resident Michael S. Niroda. Found stuffed into a sofa was a plastic replica of a semiautomatic handgun and a mask, both thought to have been used in the robbery attempt. After an investigation, Niroda also was charged with robbing a couple of $16 in the 300 block of Gittings St. on Wednesday and robbing a man Tuesday in the 1100 block of William St.
Stolen vehicles: The Regional Auto Theft Team is investigating the theft of four 2005 Hyundai automobiles from a storage facility at Amports in the 3500 block of Fairfield Ave. between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m. Jan. 11. None of the recent imports had tags.
Robbery: A 15-year-old was walking in the 200 block of Northbend Road about 9 p.m. Wednesday when two other males, one with a handgun, robbed him of his tennis shoes, a DVD and two caps. The gunman placed the weapon to the victim's head and pulled the trigger, but the gun did not fire.
Theft: A 10-inch mitre saw valued at $250 was stolen Wednesday from a 1998 Dodge Durango in the 200 block of S. Chester St.
Robbery try: Two men posing as police officers entered a townhouse in the first block of Armitage Court about 1:15 a.m. Wednesday and forced two females and a male from their beds at gunpoint and onto a floor. The intruders fled without robbing the victims and rode off in a dark blue Chevrolet Tahoe with unknown tags.
Robbery: Three men forced their way into a house in the 500 block of Carroll Island Road about 1 a.m. Wednesday, assaulted a male occupant and robbed him and another male occupant of cash, jewelry and a watch, all valued at $2,050.
Burglary: At least 150 DVDs and video games - all valued at nearly $2,500 - were stolen Wednesday from a townhouse in the first block of Astro Court.
White Marsh Precinct
Burglary: A toilet, table saw and sink - all valued at $850 - were stolen Wednesday from a house in the 1100 block of Jerome Ave.
North Point Precinct
Theft: Police were seeking two men who stole telephones valued at $150 from a display at Eastpoint Mall on Wednesday.
